Membership
Eligibility
- One should have completed 21 years of age, and
- Possesses a degree or diploma in Industrial Safety from any institution recognized by State / Central Government. or
- Possesses a recognized degree or diploma in Engineering / Technology / Science has more than 3 years experience in a department of Central or State Government which deals with the Factories Act / Indian Dock Labour Act / Fire Service Act and building and construction workers Act / and any other safety regulations. Or
- Possesses an International General Certificate OR a Diploma from The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH), UK along with a basic qualification of a degree or diploma. OR A Certified Safety Professional (CSP) recognized by Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), USA along with a basic qualification of a degree or diploma.
- Should be a practicing safety professional.
Grades of Membership
Corporate Membership
Charter Life Member: Existing Member of SEA having three years of membership and having a minimum of 10 years of Professional Experience in Safety, Occupational Health & Environment and made significant and substantial contributions (refer Appendix A ) will be awarded Life Fellowship after a case to case scrutiny by the Executive Committee. Grad Life Member: A Safety Engineer / professional having a minimum of one year of SEA membership and five years experience in this field.
Life Member: A Safety Engineer / professional having a minimum three years experience in this field.
Non Corporate Members
Those who are not meeting the criteria defined above for a corporate member will be given Non Corporate member category.
Life Associate Member: This non-corporate grade is for those who meet the professional qualification, but not the required years of experience [OR] those who are having work experience of more than 3 years in safety but not professionally qualified. (An Associate Member can be upgraded to a Member whenever he / she meets the required criteria)
Life affiliate Member: This non- corporate grade is open to Safety Service Providers, and others who are involved in promoting safety practices.
Student Member: The non-corporate grade is for students undergoing approved Occupational Health & safety courses with or without background experience. (A student member can be upgraded to other grades of membership as applicable, at the end of their studies.) Students undergoing Safety & Health courses at recognized Universities / Institutes should forward their application for ‘Student Member’ along with a Bonafide Certificate from their College / Institute and Cheque / DD towards their Annual Fees and Registration Fees.
Membership
Depending upon the qualification and experience, membership will be awarded as Life Member, Life Associate, Life Affiliate and Students. Fellowships are also awarded to professionals with long & exemplary services.
